Beacon Capital is an independent Irish corporate funding boutique specialising in bespoke commercial finance solutions for both residential and commercial property throughout Ireland. With more than twenty five capital sources to draw from, we are able to arrange corporate finance advice for each stage of your journey, plugging in the appropriate loan source as your needs change. Beacon Capital arranges property development finance, property acquisition finance, and property settlement finance including senior debt, bridging loans and mezzanine finance. We have also sourced and negotiated blended lending solutions from multiple lenders where we believed this was the most appropriate funding option.

Michael Bolger, Managing Director
Michael was formerly Head of Operations for the personal insolvency division of Grant Thornton where he worked from June 2012. Michael has advised on acquisitions, disposals, fund-raising, business planning, financial reviews, and valuations. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Michael worked as a due diligence consultant in the private sector for six years from 2006 where he worked on a variety of projects and gained significant corporate finance and due diligence experience. Michael is a practised trained Accountant having qualified in 2001 whilst training with a top 10 professional practice in Dublin. Michael was seconded to the Department of Justice in November 2012 on a short-term basis to offer professional assistance and guidance to the Insolvency Service of Ireland implementation team. He is also the ISIP Representative on the Department of Justice Consultative Forum on Debt.
Emer Durkan, Senior Consultant
Emer is a qualified solicitor having trained and worked with A&L Goodbody Solicitors. In 2014, Emer was awarded the LCOI designation by the Association of Compliance Officers of Ireland in conjunction with the Institute of Banking. Emer worked in KBC Bank for over 5 years in both Consumer Protection and Data Protection and was Head of the Consumer Protection Team. Beacon Capital was delighted to appoint Emer in March 2018 to benefit from her wealth of commercial, legal and financial services experience.
Paul Cunningham, Non-Executive Director
Paul is a founding member of Beacon Capital and currently serves in a non-executive capacity. Paul worked for many years as a Finance Director in the Hospitality and Retail sectors. Initially Paul was employed by Jurys Hotel group in Ireland and in the UK before working with a large retail groups in Russia and New York. He was heavily involved with financial restructuring and turnaround work, which involved removal of considerable cost from the business, negotiating settlement agreements as well as restructuring the debt make up. Paul is a qualified accountant with 23 years post qualified experience.
Feargal McKenna, Director
Feargal has over 16 years global capital markets and credit experience and has developed extensive financial analysis and debt structuring experience across the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. Having worked across corporate, institutional, and leveraged & acquisition finance departments, Feargal was responsible for sourcing, originating and the analysis of debt transactions. He has built up extensive transaction expertise having structured, arranged or advised on over €10bn of transactions. Prior to joining Beacon Capital, Feargal played an integral part in the establishment and development of AIB’s A$2bn structured and acquisition finance business in the Asia Pacific region. Feargal was also a Senior Director within the Corporate Institutional team at Westpac Institutional Bank in Sydney with responsibility for the management of a wide variety of corporate clients.
Dick Bourke, Client Manager
Dick Bourke held a number of senior management roles in one of the country’s major banks and has over 35 years of experience in banking. He was extensively involved in management in the branch network and was responsible for organising commercial finance for many individuals and company entities. In that time, he worked closely with clients on acquisitions, disposals, re-structuring , financial reviews and business planning. Dick is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and a member of the Institute of Bankers. His experience in corporate finance gives him an insight into assisting clients achieve their financial goals in a timely and helpful manner. Prior to joining Beacon Capital, Dick worked with Grant Thornton for nearly three years in the personal insolvency division where he reviewed more than 1,000 personal insolvency cases. He is also a director of The County Cavan Enterprise Fund and has mentored businesses in that role.
